We originally purchased this collar and a comfy cone hoping to find a product that would stop excessive licking leading to hair loss during allergy season. Our dog absolutely prefers this E-collar to any other because it doesn’t impair her field of vision; furthermore, she’s no longer a walking wrecking ball with her cone on. Recently, she had knee surgery and refused to walk while the had the plastic collar on. Positively wouldn’t do it. Once we put this cone on instead, she was able to walk and potty independently. Couldn’t wish for a better cone!

My girl Milly has OCD licking along with cognitive dysfunction so she constantly licks and a very aggressive and manic way. This cause cysts on her. This collar gives her the flexibility and comfort to move around while keeps her paws out of reach.

It’s safe, and may help keep a dog’s scratched eye free from infection. It’s important to monitor your dog’s behavior, as some may be able to maneuver around the protective collar to reach the areas they shouldn’t.

Should be called the “Cone of Fame” as this was a lifesaver for us!!
We have a high-energy, quck-pace German Shepherd puppy who recently got spayed.
That hard plastic veterinarian collar was constantly bashing into everything including our ankles!
This soft foam collar did the job beautifully during the day instead!!
We all loved this “cone” collar!!

My dog(border collie/Aussie mix has a long stout. Is this collar long enough to keep her licking the incision. I tried a smaller collar and so i had to go back to the large one she came home with from the vet.

Depending on the length of your dog, and how far away their stomach is to their mouth, this collar would prevent them from reaching their wounds.

Question
Cathy Saller –
I am looking for a collar where my dog will not scratch his face/cheek due to open wound. Have people had success with this collar keeping paws off of face? I am unable to see if the collar bends due to its softness where paw could get at face. He’s going to be in a cone for over a month so looking for the safest, but most comfortable. Thanks for any advice!

I love this, however, it is not for back legs. My dog had CCL surgery two days ago and got to her stitches. Fortunately, she didn’t remove them, but the area is red. I recommend only for mid areas.

Question
Jay –
Two questions before I make a purchase for my cat with a 7.3 inch neck measured with two fingers under the tape measure. (This would be a XS from the sizing chart.)
1. Your text says there are 4 buttons to adjust the size. Does that mean you can adjust the circumference of the neck hole? Or do you mean a given size (like XS) can use more or fewer of the rings?
Basically can you put up a photo of the collar that is NOT snapped close and shows both ends of the flaps that button together so I can better understand how this will work. And better describe how the neck hole is adjusted and what it is that keeps the collar onto the pet? Is it the 4 or 5 buttons that are visible in the photos or is there also some kind of drawstring that adjusts the opening for the neck?
2. How many rings are in each of the XS and in the S sizes? I have reviewed the sizing and knowing the number of rings in the two possible sizes will help me decide which will work better for my cat. I need to keep her from chewing on her HIND foot so I might have to get a S not an XS or something and then figure out a way to make a size S stay on her neck.

As for your first question, you can use the 4 buttons to use more or fewer of the rings. Please see the picture [XS size in Green] below.

For your second question, there are 4 rings in each of the XS and S sizes. Please see the picture [S size in Blue] below.
